Hey lovelies! How was your Thursday? Hopefully, it was fabulous and productive, and you’re now winding down from it with a delightful snack. Tomorrow is FRIDAY! Whee!
Breakfast
My only class today was from 2:30 – 4:30, but I still managed to get up at my usual rooster-esque hour of 7:00 a.m. Well, it was technically 6:40 a.m., but I fell back to sleep for another 20 minutes. How generous of you, body!
Upon waking, I got out of bed and made myself a bowl of Nature’s Path Flax Multibran Flakes with almond milk, after enjoying a perfectly crisp Cortland apple. (FYI: This cereal doesn’t hold a candle to my beloved Heritage Flakes)
I did some homework before an advising appointment at 10:30. I really want to graduate in May, as I only have 6 classes left after this semester (one of which has a lab component). I’m pretty sure that I can handle 5 courses…but 6 is just too much. So, I’m going to have to take my final course over the summer. This would be fine under any other circumstance but I’m kind of bummed out because I can’t walk at graduation now. FSU’s registrar made it an official rule this year.
Lunch
After that news, I did what any salad-loving girl would do: make the greatest salad ever. I had my salad in addition to a lazy sandwich made with 2 slices of sprouted Ezekiel bread and Trader Joe’s Tomato Basil hummus. I say lazy because I put next-to-no thought into it. My brain did something like this: Ezekiel bread, hummus, yum, eat. Regardless of effort, it hit the spot!
Daily Musings
While taking a break from my studies (I have a massive Food Service Systems exam on Tuesday), I stumbled across something that would make the day of any kale fanatic. Okay, I know. We’re few and far between. But I think you’ll share my sentiments with this one.
Cue the Stevie Wonder: Isn’t she lovely? Isn’t she wonderful?
My little heart leapt for joy! There are also unisex t-shirts. Hmm. Next paycheck, I might be inclined to make a very important purchase.
Anywho, after my 2:30 class, I took a spinning class with Marianne and am now sitting in hour-old sweaty workout clothes. You’ve done it too – don’t judge.
I haven’t eaten dinner yet but I wanted to post before the webinar I’m attending via Internet tonight, hosted by the amazing Katy Widrick. Superstar bloggers Julie, Brittany, Courtney, and Heather are hosting a webinar similar to the seminar they presented at the Healthy Living Summit on negativity in the blogworld. I’m so excited because I really admire these fine, classy ladies!
Off to fit in some last-minute homework (and maybe a shower).
Stay lovely,
Heather
P.S. – If you’re in the Boston area, tune into Boston Catholic Television (Adelphia channel 98, Comcast channel 56 and RCN channel 86) tomorrow at 4:30 p.m. to see me singing live on their annual telethon. There – shameless plug is over.

Hi Heather! Thanks for visiting my blog (The Sweet Life). Your name is so cute — and I’ve recently discovered kale in my own life so I can appreciate it. Need more kale! Actually, i was reminded to step it up today when I checked out your blog roll and found Crazy, Sexy, Life. I watched the documentary on Kris Carr a couple years ago and never knew what happened after. I’m so glad your site led me to her again. Now, I’m buying her new book! Have you read it? Just curious! Anyway…thanks!
Hey Ericka!
The pleasure is all mine, my dear. I love fellow kale warriors!
Kris Carr is a wonderful lady and a genius. Her book Crazy, Sexy Diet is a phenomenal read. Definitely give it a go! I look forward to frequenting your blog!
The sign is really cute and so you!
Aww, you’re so sweet. Thanks Kim!
No judgement here, I’ve lounged around in my own sweat before! That salad looks really good…I’ve gotta get that dressing.
Oh my goodness, you have no idea! Please get it. Then, you can thank me.
