Hey there, sunshines! How was your Tuesday? Hope it was full of love and light.
Do you ever have those mornings in which you wake up totally disoriented and groggy? Today was that day for me. I woke up at 6:30 to study for my exam and was so incredibly out of it. I think I’m still recovering from my exhausting (but awesome!) weekend.
Breakfast
I hate to tell you, but it’s back to cereal. Mainly, for two reasons: 1.) I love cereal and 2.) I’m too lazy to walk downstairs to the microwave and make oats or waffles. I’ll have to start getting more creative. Maybe? Maybe not. This girl loooves her cereal.
I enjoyed some Nature’s Path Heritage Flakes with almond milk and some sliced mango. Alongside my eats was my morning bestie: pumpkin spice coffee from Honey Dew. It takes me forever to finish medium-sized coffees, as in roughly 3 hours. Does anyone experience this? Maybe I’m just the lone snail-paced coffee drinker. Whatever; it just means that I get to relish it that much longer.
Lunch
Today’s lunch came together courtesy of the beloved Trader Joe’s. As part of some errands yesterday, I made a much-needed trip to the grocery store to stock up on the essentials, some of which I rounded up for a delicious lunch.
The salad bowl contained kale (duh!), Trader Joe’s Healthy Veggie Blend of broccoli, carrots, radishes, celery, and jicama, and was topped with their Italiain viniagerete and tomato basil hummus. Home run salad, if I do say so myself! Alongside the salad, I had a Trader Joe’s fiberful whole wheat pita (10 grams baby!) with organic ketchup for dipping. This meal kept me satisfied for hours!
Dinner
After my final class, I laced up my sneakers and headed to kickboxing with my friend Kristen. I hadn’t been in 2 weeks and our instructor had a new routine ready for us. It was awesome! Our final song before stretching was ALL PLANKS. I was still sore from my push-ups on Sunday, so I was shaking like crazy. I powered through it though!
After kickboxing, I fixed myself a quick dinner, also half-courtesy of Trader Joe’s. It looks so unappealing but I can promise you, it was delicious. And devoured in a matter of 10 minutes. Bam!
I munched on a Trader Joe’s organic veggie patty and some Brussels sprouts slaw with apples, dried cranberries, and walnuts, tossed in lemon juice and canola oil. The sweetness from the apples and tartness from the cranberries really complemented the Brussels sprouts. Danny Tanner would scoff at such a slaw.
Roll Your R’s
Sometime last week, Matty and I were laying down and watching TV. I forget what we were watching exactly, but someone on the show was Spanish and rolled their R’s with ease, much like Latin cuisine king Aaron Sanchez.
Hubba hubba. He can “chop” me anytime.
Anyways, Matty can roll his tongue like Aaron. Maybe that’s why I love him so much. I, on the other hand, sound like a cat choking on a hairball. It just doesn’t happen. If you’re deficient in R-rolling like I am and want to become skilled, I highly recommend Felipe Ray Tyson.
He gives some top notch advice. Namely, “Put pressure on it and make it rattle.” Oh yeah, baby.
Or you can be like my inept self and gargle your R’s instead.
Stay lovely,
Heather
Question of the Day: Can you gargle your R’s?

mmm I love Aaron Sanchez! Also that lunch salad looks delightful and I’m going to need to make a little stop at Trader Joe’s tomorrow!!
I’m so happy to hear that I’m not the only one in love with Aaron. Definitely grab that tomato basil hummus. It is divine!
I love all of your food! Isn’t Trader Joe’s the best?! I can not roll my R’s, but when I was younger I was able too. I don’t know what happened. Haha.
Trader Joe’s really is amazing. The mecca of cheap, healthy foods! So glad I’m not alone in my lack of R-rolling.
I really like what you are saying, and am glad I found your website. Please keep it up.
Thanks, Jimmy! I’m glad you found it too.
