Workout Video: What do YOU want?

March 2, 2012 by Heather

It’s FRIDAY! Sorry, I’m a little excited because it’s not just any Friday. It’s Wildflour Friday! More on that in a bit.

Workout

This morning, when my alarm went off, I shot up out of bed and was more-than ready to tackle a workout. First, I hopped onto the arc trainer (okay, I didn’t actually hop) and pedaled away on the interval setting for 25 minutes. Whew! It was a toughie. Then, I went onto complete three sets of this chest and triceps workout:

Awesome workout indeed! Breakfast followed and it was the usual: Vega chocolate protein pudding oats! I also enjoyed a mango and my usual cup of black coffee. Sorry, no picture!

My only class was cancelled today, so I took advantage of my free morning and completed an assignment before tackling a slew of blog-related tasks. It felt so good to be able to put more time into bloggie things. Afterwards, I packed my things and headed home!

Lunch

Matty and I drove over to Wildflour as soon as I got home. I wanted to get a serious jump-start on studying (I have an exam on Sunday and two on Tuesday) and Matty was down for it. He happily munched on one of their famous chocolate chip cookies and I munched on this:

That would be buckwheat soba noodles with red cabbage, carrots and arugula, topped with their special mild chili sauce. It was heavenly and delicious! I also got a large slowpour coffee. I just can’t resist their house-brewed goodness. We stayed for a little over two hours a.k.a. until my brain died, at which point I decided it would be fun to treat Matty and I to some dinner!

Dinner

Since Rasoi is next door, we got some Indian food to go and brought it home. We ate our meals while watching the lastest episode of Modern Family.

ATTENTION FANS: I really wish Mitchell followed through with the Wizard of Oz themed birthday party for Cam. That would have been priceless to see! Can you imagine Cam acting out “We’re Off to See the Wizard” ?!

Anyways, back to dinner.

I ordered Rasoi’s famous vegetable poriyal, a medley of roasted root veggies in a coconut sauce, and a side of lentils. The taste was spot on but it was a bit oily this time around. I suppose I can allow Rasoi one slip up out of the million times Matty and I have ordered from there. ;-)

What do YOU want?

Okay, lovelies! I know that I promised you a workout video…and a workout video you will have! Next week, Matty and I will be filming some of my signature Mind Body Barre moves for you – an at-home circuit that you can do anytime you want! Right now, the circuit is focused on abs, the waistline and inner thighs. But I was thinking…why not modify it to fit what YOU want?

Ultimately, you are the reason I blog, and I love hearing your positive feedback on the workouts I’ve created for you so far. It means the world to me!

I’ve had a slew of requests for my signature pendulum swing move, which targets the outer thighs, abs and waistline. That will definitely be in the video! Now, let’s pool your ideas together and create one kick-butt video! What else do you want to see? What area are you looking to tone?

Have a great night!

Oh! One more thing…

YOU’RE WELCOME.

Stay lovely,
Heather

I bet that was awesome finding out your class was canceled especially since it was Friday!! I just got out of work but am excited for tomorrow (I’m doing the Heart Run & Walk :) I’d like to try those protein Oats. When you make them do you do it the night before and leave it in the fridge??

    • Heather says:

Good luck tomorrow on the Heart Run & Walk, Mary! :-) Sounds like a blast! To answer your question, I make them the morning of. It literally takes 2 minutes – our kinda breakfast. ;-)

    That Indian food looks amazing!

  4. Mary says:

Ok great I can easily throw that together. P.s. I just voted for you for the Best Healthy Living Blog – good luck!

  5. Oh, shirtless Ryan Gosling… why are you so attractive? ;)

Can’t wait for the workout video! I think inner thighs and waist would be awesome — I’m also looking for moves that will make my muscular runner-thighs stay tight and slim instead of just kind of…growing. (How do I say that without sounding paranoid?) Any exercises you could suggest?

    • Heather says:

I’ll be showing you a bunch in the video! They’re all kind of hard to explain without “showing” you how to do it. In the mean time, leg abductors, squats and lunges will do the trick. ;-)
