Can you believe it’s Friday? Honestly, this week has absolutely flown by for me. Both yesterday and today, I kept thinking it was the day before. Alas, I will certainly settle for a Friday.

Dinner Date

Last night, Matty and I went on a date to Rasoi, our favorite Indian restaurant located in Pawtucket, RI. I got out of work at the clinic around 7:00 p.m. so it was a very late dinner and we were both arrived ready to enjoy Rasoi’s delicacies. We started with pappadum and dippers!

It’s safe to say that Matty and I wouldn’t argue if these crispy, lentil-chickpea crackers became a pre-meal staple at most American restaurants. Who needs bread when you’ve got papadum? ;-)

When our meals arrived, we were ready to eat!

Clearly, one of us was more impatient than the other. When it comes to Indian food, Matty is the equivalent of a kid in a candy store! He rolled with his usual, Chicken Tikka Lababdar and I ordered a tofu salad with lime cilantro vinaigrette on the side.

I cleared my plate and Matty strategically ate half of his so that he could enjoy the other half for today’s lunch. The evening ended with lots of much-needed cuddling.

Resting It Up

This morning, I took a rest day and completed the Long & Lean stretching routine from the Tone It Up Beach Babe DVD. It was what I needed to wake my body up. The routine is just shy of 10 minutes, and I really like to do it on my day off from working out to make sure my muscles aren’t getting tense and tight. After the great stretch session, I enjoyed breakfast and an episode of What Not to Wear while getting ready for work. Multi-tasking at its finest, really.

Lunch

I got out of work around 1:00 p.m. and headed to Matty’s for a late lunch. We munched while watching the U.S. women’s gold medal-winning game. How amazing was that match?! Matty and I are both already mourning the death of this year’s Olympics. It’s been such a great year! I’ve really enjoyed watching volleyball, soccer, and swimming the most. Anyways, back to lunch. It looks wonky but tasted wonderful.

On the left is local tofu salad tossed with raw spinach. On the right is sauteed broccoli with garlic, curry powder, garam masala, and lots of nutritional yeast. FYI: It is a winning combination.

J’adore la vie Update

Some of you might have been wondering what the heck is going on with #jadorelavie. Well, a lot is going on! There’s lots of designing and planning happening. I give you Exhibits A and B:

Do you like the kale leaf l’accent aigu?! I hope you do. Jay is a pretty awesome designer and is being extremely patient with me. Thank you, Jay!

Can you also tell that, when it comes to color schemes, I am extremely indecisive?

I’m really excited about this project because I want to create a separate space where people can go and celebrate the beauty of life. Keep sending in your pictures of you enjoying life in the moment. They’re so beautiful and inspiring. What is your j’adore la vie? What makes you happy? What makes your heart beat with joy? Send it in an email to me at heather@fortheloveofkale.com. Let’s spread the love of life!

Stay lovely,
Heather

I want to give a shout out to my girl Catherine! Her Eat More Rabbit Food tees and tanks are finally in and they are so, so, so adorable. I’ve already ordered mine and they’re selling like hot cakes so get on it fast! She is an amazing DIY girl and has an even more amazing heart. Support RFFMBT!

i love the logo colors! can you find a way to use them all?! :) actually, on the box on the right, i love the one that is in the upper left hand corner, pink and brownish! and the purple next to it! and the blues… oh my. i don’t think i’m helping.

in other news… WHEN ARE YOU TAKING ME TO RASOI? <3 <3 <3

  4. Caroline says:

Not to be totally nitpicky… Okay, being totally nitpicky, the apostrophe in j’adore la vie is an apostrophe, not an accent aigu. Accent aigu is like the line above the e in bébé. Cough. Ahem. French nitpickiness done.
Not that that makes any difference in the cuteness of the kale leaf. :)

  5. Kaela says:

My dogs always make me happy. Even if they’re being annoying, they’re still adorable and innocent. I’ve never been to Rasoi. I’ve seen it of course, but always on my planned excursions to Wildflour or GG. I must go there sometime!

(And I see Caroline beat me to the French pickiness. I second that – it’s just an apostrophe. Still cute though!)

I love that! Do you have any pictures of you with your dogs? I’d love to feature you on the site when it’s done, Kaela! And duh to the French comment – haha – I have no idea why my brain decided it was a l’accent aigu. Thanks for the reminder!
