J’adore la vie Update

September 11, 2012 by Heather

Hey guys! Sorry I went M.I.A. yesterday. Matty and I both had the day off and decided to take a trip to Amherst together. It had been a week since we’d spent some quality time together, so we thought a day trip was in order. If you were following along on Instagram, you know that we saw some beautiful sites and enjoyed some yummy food to boot!

Matty and I went to school at UMass Amherst (him for four years and myself for 1.5 years) and we really love visiting the area. It’s an absolutely gorgeous town and has some great, hole-in-the-wall spots. This is the view we saw from the 23rd floor of the UMass library.

Pretty stunning, huh?

Workout

This morning, I turned to my Tone It Up trainers for a quick workout before working at the clinic. I completed the Surfer Girl and Bikini Booty routines today and was pleasantly sore afterwards! Not too soon after, I busted out my favorite mug and poured some piping hot, black pumpkin coffee into it.

Owls in the front and owls in the back! Cait gave me that cute owl tray for mt birthday and it does a marvelous job of housing my bobby pins. Before I knew it, my shift at work was over and I was ready to get my lunch on.

Lunch

Part one of lunch was a big ol’ salad featuring a bean that I don’t usually cook with: Great Northern Beans. I had purchased a can of the 365 organic brand at Whole Foods a couple of weeks ago and figured I’d work them into my salad today. To start, I massaged some spinach with the curry Yummy Hummy hummus I snagged at the Farmer’s Market with Cait. I heated some of the beans on the stovetop with nutritional yeast and unsweetened almond milk before adding them to the salad with freshly diced cherry tomatoes.

So good! Part two of lunch was predictable: sweet potato wedges with organic ketchup for dippin’. Standard.

J’adore la vie Update

With Meg and Linz’s posts over the past few days, I couldn’t wait another day to update you on J’adore la vie. I’m getting so much love and receiving so many requests from people about J’adore la vie – mainly, what it is, what it means, and/or how to get involved! Honestly, I can’t really tell you how much that means to me. This is my dream, my baby if you will, and I know that we can make it a total success together! So, let’s start with step one: community involvement! That’s you. ;-) I filmed a vlog explaining the grass roots of the idea and how you can hop on the love train that is J’adore la vie!

J’adore la vie is a movement encouraging everyone to love life, cherish the present, and savor the moments that make our hearts sing. It’s a mantra that represents letting go of every worry or fear in our lives in exchange for love! We’re going to do it through pictures, allowing all of us to connect through each other’s happiness! People (yes YOU!) will send in photos of themselves in their element – in a state of pure bliss – simply enjoying life. Let’s create J’adore la vie!

The working mantra is: Breathe. Listen. Dream it. See it. Reach for it. Grab it. Love it. Live it. J’adore la vie.”

Let’s get the #jadorelavie thunder going!

Stay lovely,
Heather
