In just two hours, I will be Connecticut bound! This weekend, I’m visiting Cait’s neck of the woods and I am so beyond excited to see her! It’s only been three weeks but certainly feels like three months. I am ready for girl time! Let’s backtrack here, though, and stay focused on the present.
This morning’s workout was amazing. Friday is my designated #ZWOW day and I get so giddy waking up on Friday mornings to get my short-and-intense workout in. Today, I completed #ZWOW #33 and managed to finish three rounds in 17 minutes. The workout calls for 15 minutes AMRAP (as many rounds as possible) but, when I saw that Zuzana finished three rounds, I decided to make that my goal. Pulse squat jumps kill me everytime!
Trader Joe’s Bonanza
After my workout, I got dressed and ready for work at the clinic. I got out earlier than anticipated and asked Matty if he wanted to stop at the new Trader Joe’s nearby. He agreed and the two of us set our sights on the biggest TJ’s in Massachusetts. Today was the store’s opening day and we knew it was going to be busy.
But it was an absolute bonanza!
We decided to make a loop around the store because we were curious. After dodging a few children and friendly employees, we bid adieu. On the way out, I spotted some Heathers for sale!
Seeing how this is the only Trader Joe’s in our area (the next one is 45 minutes north), it’s safe to say I’ll steer clear of it for the next five days. As badly as I want my tomato-basil hummus and eggplant spread, I’m not that desperate. Talk about a frenzy! Until time time, TJ’s.
Our next stop was Christmas Tree Shop. I got Matty a new picture of the two of us as part of his birthday present and he wanted to find a frame for it. Success! We found the perfect frame for just $2.99.
Don’t we look like cartoon characters? I blame Target printing. While in the checkout line at the Christmas Tree Shop, we perused the $5 movie rack and I debated purchasing this gem.
What? The Girl Can Rock. Har har har. While I didn’t end up purchasing the Hilary Duff live DVD, I did wind up with a 6-pack of lime seltzer water for $1.59. Score!
After our amusing semi-shopping experience, Matty and I went back to his house to enjoy some lunch. I threw together an easy-peasy salad because, well, what else is new?
This gigantic beauty featured raw kale, tomatoes, broccoli, cucumber, and avocado along with roasted sweet potatoes and leftover tofu from Wednesday’s awesome lunch. I drizzled it all with a nooch-based homemade dressing (2 Tbsp nutritional yeast, 2 Tbsp. water, curry powder, garlic powder, and garam masala).
We capped off the afternoon with an episode of Project Runway. Why didn’t we know that the season has already started over a month ago?! Hmph. Okay, I’m off to pack (procrastinator), hop in my Camry, and drive to Glastobury, CT! We’ll catch up tomorrow.
