Two Announcements: #plantPOWER Winners & J’adore la vie Challenge!

November 5, 2012 by Heather

Thank you so much for all of your patience for the past week. Now that I’ve safely returned from Las Vegas, Kasey and I had the opportunity to chat about the winners of the #plantPOWER challenge! In the interest of keeping things fair, we chose winners based on active participation and also chose winners at random.

Before we announce the winners, can we just talk about how amazing you all are?! We were absoultely FLOORED by your constant participation and, even more importantly, how much you motivated your fellow #plantPOWER challengers. Kasey and I read every last tweet, Instagram picture, and comment. We’ve got over 3,000 photos logged on Instagram already with the #plantPOWER hash tag! THANK YOU for making that happen!

Can you believe there were 13 giveaways?! Thank you so much to all of our #plantPOWER supporters for making this challenge even more exciting!

Okay, drumroll please! Here are the winners of each of the 13 #plantPOWER giveaways! If you did not win, DON’T WORRY! We have so many exciting things coming your way and so many more opportunities for you in the future. Also, remember that NOTHING could be better than becoming healthier – and that’s exactly what you did by incorporating more plant-based foods into your life!

*WAIT! It doesn’t end here! Kasey and I kept in constant contact throughout the challenge and we both agreed that one person really went above and beyond in terms of participation, encouragement, and team recognition.  We didn’t plan on having one overall winner but her kindess and dedication was so apparent that we couldn’t not recognize her. Congratulations Wrennie (@wrennie_tiu)! You’ve won a special SURPRISE! We’ll be announcing that soon. :-)

Kasey and I have amazing ideas for the future, so don’t worry – #plantPOWER is still going strong. Keep tweeting and Insgtagramming those pics!

Congratulations to all the winners! For those of you who won the Attune Foods, Perfect Fit, Almond Breeze, Real Food Barre, and Muir Glen giveaways, please email me at heather[at]fortheloveofkale[dot]com. For those of you who won any of the other giveaways, email Kasey at kasey[at]powercakes[dot]net.

In other news…ARE YOU READY TO BRING THE #jadorelavie THUNDER?!

When I returned from Las Vegas on Friday and truly realized the destruction that Hurricane Sandy had caused, I simply couldn’t stand by and do nothing. My dear friend Erica recently moved to New York with her boyfriend and their apartment is now under water – completely destroyed.

Unfortunately, for the East Coast, this scene is not uncommon. For some crazy reason, my neck of the woods remained untouched. I came home to a warm, cozy bed, hot water, and food stocked in the fridge and cupboards. So, let’s make a difference, huh?!

For the ENTIRE month of November, for every #jadorelavie email I receive, I will donate $1 to the American Red Cross‘ Hurricane Sandy fund. THESE PEOPLE NEED OUR HELP AND WE CAN DO THIS! Together, we can make a difference in these people’s lives. THEY NEED US! ♥

When you send an email, tweet about it, tag me (@theloveofkale), and use the #jadorelavie4sandy and #FitFluential hash tags!

*Note: Matty and I are each donating $100 (yes – he’s the best boyfriend ever), so I will be capping the entries at $200 (i.e. 200 entries). It’s all we can afford – but please keep those entries coming, regardless! You can always text REDCROSS to 90999 to donate $10 to the Hurricane Sandy fund too.

LET’S DO THIS THING!

Stay lovely,
Heather

Great challenge! It’s so important to donate to causes like this…I’m going to donate $100 even though I’m super broke ha ha. I’m just going to not be buying expensive nut butters and other things this month. If that means others can benefit, I will happily spend less on groceries and other things I don’t “need”. Now, I will have to get my j’adore la vie on:) Love YOU!

  7. Emily says:

Even though my blog isn’t active anymore, I still read yours every single day (and stalk your instagram, of course!)
You are such a beautiful person, inside and out, and the fact that you and Matty are doing this is amazing! Thank you for being a constant inspiration to so many people.
Sending you lots of love and smiles! <3

  8. lindsay says:

  9. Jody says:

Kudos to you for setting up this challenge! It’s a wonderful idea, I love how you are using your blog to promote good causes! I made a donation myself through other organizations so I understand how challenging it can be on a budget, but I am so happy to see everyone pitching in!

  10. [...] Could that be any easier? That’s why casseroles make excellent side dishes. You could even make this a meal by adding a protein like grilled chicken! Sauteed mushrooms…they weren’t in my grandma’s original recipe but made an EXCELLENT addition and added that #plantPOWER! [...]

  11. [...] Heather is donating 1 dollar to the American Red Cross’ hurricane fund for every j’adore… [...]
