Do you believe in miracles? I believe in miracles. I believe that we are all miracle-workers. Holla!
I first learned about the miracle mindset from my beautiful teacher and mentor, Gabrielle Bernstein. I knew that, someday, I’d be able to meet her in person and thank her for opening my eyes to a new way of experiencing life and inspiring me to become a student of A Course in Miracles.
On Wednesday evening, it happened. My best friend Raquel and I hopped in the car and drove 2.5 hours to Fairfield, CT to see Gabrielle Bernstein kick off her book tour for her new book, May Cause Miracles, at the Fairfield Community Theatre.
We arrived in Fairfield with more-than enough time to kill, so we stopped in for dinner at Catch a Healthy Habit Cafe, a raw vegan restaurant two doors down from the venue where Gabby would be speaking. They were also sponsoring the lecture, which was super cool! Raquel and I walked into the cafe and who did we see munching on a salad and prepping for the night? Gabby herself! I introduced myself, thanked her for commenting on my blog, and she gave me the biggest hug like we’d known each other for years. “Heather! Yes! Hi baby!” she said. We embraced. We gushed. J’adore la vie.
We let Gabby return to her duties and reverted our focus to the glorious raw foodie goodness! For dinner, Raquel and I ordered the nori wraps, stuffed with cashew cheese, beets, sunflower sprouts, avocado, onion, and spinach. It came with an outstanding fig marmalade dipping sauce and “sea salt and vinegar” zucchini chips. NOM.
We both had a hankering for something sweet after our meal and decided to order the chocolate pudding, made with avocado and cacao. In a word: unreal. Just looking at it makes my mouth water!
With happy bellies, we walked to the theatre with two other women attending the event. Bonus: Raquel and I were first in line! We were handed our complimentary copies of May Cause Miracles and chit-chatted with some other lovely ladies in line.
After the doors opened, we scored some stellar seats and watched as people began to pile in. All seats had been sold out! A few minutes later, Maria and I caught each other’s eyes! We squealed and hugged. You know, the usual blogger thing.
Love this lady; she’s such a sweetheart and so funny.
The three of us talked until it was time for Gabby to take the stage.
Sigh. Where to begin? Her presence is incredible and her energy is so authentic and calm. We began with a very emotional meditation, dedicated to the victims of Sandy Hook and any feelings of fear we might have held onto from the event. Gabby had us focus on witnessing our feelings and releasing them. It was very healing.
After the meditation, she broke down May Cause Miracles for us, talking about each chapter and the motivation behind her creating the book. Gabby said that she writes books based on what she believes her audience wants and needs. She kept hearing a calling for straightforward how-to guidance, and that is where May Cause Miracles came from.
Before the lecture began, Raquel caught eyes with a guy across the room and said, “I know him!” Turns out it was her sister’s boyfriend’s friend. Re-read it … you’ll get it.
He was there with his girlfriend, Brittany Costa, who also happens to be a soul sister of mine! What a small world. The four of us talked for a good half-hour after the lecture about all things health, yoga, vegan, and otherwise. They’re such a great couple. I love Brittany so much! She is such an incredible person with so much to give. You’ll be seeing more of her on the blog this year!
The night was epic. It was filled with love, passion, and raw honest truth. J’adore la vie, baby!
So, how would you like to win a copy of May Cause Miracles for yourself? I pre-ordered the book back in October before learning about the lecture, so I’ve got another book lying around. And who better to gift it to than one of you?! All you have to do is leave a comment below telling me why you want to read May Cause Miracles and what miracles you want to experience from it. I will select a winner on Sunday, January 6 so we can get the book out to you in time for the book club!
Stay lovely,
Heather

I would love to win Gabby’s new book! I already have her “Add more ~ing to your Life” book and I’ve seen her speak here in LA and was so moved. I would love to be better at really listening to myself and hearing my inner guide. I have a tendency to block out that important voice and its so important. I want to learn and work on doing that more.
I would love to win this! I’ve been hearing such great things about it, and I’m super intrigued.
I just finished spirit junkie and I LOVED IT!! Gabby’s story is so moving and I was instantly hooked! Learning to listen to my inner guide and recognize my ego has helped me so much, particularly with battling my eating disorder. I have made so much progress and I would love to keep it up with Gabby’s new book! I am sure it would solidify the things I learned from her other books and lectures and help me extend these lessons to other parts of my life.
with all the negativity in our world today sometimes it is hard to see the “up” side, or the positives, I think reading this book will remind me there is good, there is positive and we can always expect things to “work out”
i have had my hard times, just like everyone else, but i always have faith that everything happens for a reason. if we don’t stay positive or have hope then what do we have?
when life gets hard i love reading inspirational books or readings, i think this would be great!
You seriously were less then 5 mins from me!! I really wanted to go but I was struggling in the cash department!! I am dying to read this book, her ING book changed my life and she is such an inspiration!
That is so awesome you got to meet Gabby herself! What an amazing night! I can’t wait to hear all about it during book club
EEEK! SO excited for you that you got to meet your mentor & inspiration IN PERSON. Honestly, there must not be any feelings close to that!! Also your veg meal looks delicious – I made similar nori rolls before when I was down at the Living Foods Institute in Atlanta (my boyfriend & his mother went down for a 3 week healing retreat). They are DELISH!
So glad you had such a wonderful night & can’t wait to stay tuned on your journey with May Cause Miracles. I can’t wait to get the book in the mail
I’ve heard a lot about this book and Spirit Junkie lately! I think it would be a really positive, uplifting book to read in a world that can sometimes lack those qualities. P.S. That food sounds amazing!
I would love to read this!!!
A couple of weeks ago i finished reading spirit junkie a boook that i heard about from your website. The next day i was reading another blog and they reviewed spirit junkie. At the time i was looking for a new perspective on my life-so i went out and bought the book. Now that my eyes have been opened I believe in the idea of a miracle. My miracle would be having the opportunity to own may cause miracles.
I’d love to read the book because I need to make some serious life changes and I hope it would help. I’ve been dealing with a lot of self-deprecation and lack of self-love throughout my life and it’s become a more obvious issue through binge eating over the past year. I’m about to graduate law school and need to find the next step in my path in life, I’ll take all the help I can get!
After hearing such wonderful things about the book from you, and after seeing how much meditation has helped a loved one of mine, I would love to read and see what it is all about!
What a fantastic experience. Truly amazing. As you know, like you, I’m taking note of the miracles around me and focusing on my personal awareness and spreading love. I have heard nothing but excellent things about Gabrielle Bernstein from you and Bex. Unfortunately due to my current reading schedule I have yet to pick up a copy. Would love to delve into this book.
What an incredible experience you seemed to have manifested! After an inspiring year serving with AmeriCorps NCCC, I find myself back at home playing the waiting game. I am soon to embark on an intensive yoga teacher training course at Kriaplu, but I would love the extra nudge to get out of my funk of the “unknown” and not allow myself to fall back on negative habits. I want to remember the drive and work on taking control of my ‘ego,’ as I have read you talk of. It would be a needed, uplifting journey.
I would love to win this book! I’ve been considering buying her books after hearing your rave reviews. I want to learn how to recognize small miracles and experience more joy from small moments.
I really love Gabrielle. Sometimes I listen to her vlogs before work just to be inspired and to look at the world a little more positively. I would love to have her book because I am in a “down” right now, and need me some miracles!
I would LOVE to win this copy because I feel that it’s a new year, and that anything is possible for this year… Even a miracle!
I’ve been having a challenging time with some interpersonal issues at my workplace and in my private life (said everyone in the whole world)- they are situations where someone dislikes me not for who I am, but clearly for issues of their own. I’d love to mentally sort through this interpersonal stuff and apply it to all relationships and social encounters- good and bad; I’d like to know how to foster that level of love within myself to give to others.
I would love to take a spiritual journey and find out what I can do to be the best me I can be to help others. To give, to love, to inspire
What an incredible experience for you!! I have never read one of Gabby’s books before but they are high on my reading list. I was planning on just borrowing them from someone, but it would be great to own my own copy! I would love to experience the positive energy which I’m sure this book is filled with. I often get dragged down with negative thoughts both inside of me and outside. I think this book would help me sort through all of my emotions and struggles. I can’t wait to read it no matter what!
I’m so bummed I couldn’t make it up to this. It sounds INCREDIBLE. I would love to read her book because I’ve read her others and this totally seems like the next step. One of the concepts I really dug in her other books was finding the miracles in everyday life…letting yourself know that you are causing them and you ARE a miracle worker. I’d love to read more about it.
Such an amazing experience , and I’m really enjoying learning about ACM through your perspective. I’d love to win MCM!
HI Heather!! Your blogs are very inspirational and have been enjoying reading them since I took your class at MIND BODY BARRE, your becoming my role model so think it is fabulous you met yours! I have never heard of Gabrielle and pysched to learn more. I am in the process of getting my blog formed…turning 40 this year and the blog focuses on the celebration of a new decade. Love to read the book as it sounds very in hand with my life right no. thanks agin and keep sharing.
I have never read any of Gabby’s books but I did see her on Oprah and I have to say she is one amazing woman. With that said, I would like to win the book because it’s about time I hop on this spiritual journey and really start living life instead of going through the motions!
I have heard so much about this book so I’m really curious now
I’m all about this giveaway, BB! I want to win the book so I can continue the journey I’m on to love and connecting more with my ~ing! I also know that I’ll be able to recognize miracles more in my life as I continue on this journey.
so many miracles brought to you by the Universe. It makes me smile to see you with Maria too.
I’m so, so happy to see that photo of you and Gabby. How fabulous that you ran into her at the restaurant! And ran into Raquel’s sister’s boyfriend’s friend!
I’m over the moon that you got to attend this event, babe!
I’d love to win this book because I am halfway through Spirit Junkie and feel like I was drawn to it much like Gabby was drawn to a Course of Miracles. For me the more reading the better
. I need a change so badly and have gotten to such a bad place and I feel like Spirit Junkie has been a ray of hope in this dark time.
Hi Heather,
I’ve been totally interested in learning more about the course and the miracle mindset since you began sharing Gabby’s teachings with us this fall! I’d love to read her latest book simply to continue learning about this fabulous philosophy and lifestyle! Thanks for sharing
Happy New Year!
The night REALLY was epic! It was so amazing meeting you and your bff Raquel. You’re both such sweethearts!
I had never been so intrigued during a lecture before. If only college were this interesting, I would have LOVED it.
Gabby is a beautiful human being as are you! Tons of love!! xo
I LOVE Gabby and her books! She once tweeted at me and I about died.
I just finished up with Spirit Junkie. All I can say is WOW. Such an eye-opening and dare I say life changing book. Need more!!
xoxo, Grether
HEATHER! Must must must have this book! Sounds like the lecture was amazing – wish I could have been there.
That sounds like such an amazing experience! I had never heard of Gabrielle Bernstein until reading your blog and then recently another friend mentioned May Cause Miracles…it was then I decided I’m definitely supposed to read it! I’d love to win a copy of the book
I think it would be a great learning experience! I was raised in a very positive environment, and taught that you have to love yourself. However, the act of taking care of your body and spirit were always somewhat vague concepts. So now, at 23 (same as you Heather
I’m learning how important I really am and how to love myself so I can love others!

One of my 2013 goals is something I really struggle with… I am learning how to “let it be”. I want to truly live in the moment, and accept it. Practice meditation and acceptance! : )
I would love to read this book! I’m in the middle of Spirit Junkie right now and I am loving the blessings I am receiving from following the book. I am currently struggling at times with self-love and staying positive and I would love to read this book because I feel that it can help me help myself.
I would love to win the book! I looked at it last time I was at the bookstore and it looks awesome! I would love to read this book to help me find inner peace, self-love, and learn to experience every moment.
