#plantPOWER Round II: S is for…Shakeology Giveaway & Soul Space!

February 19, 2013 by Heather

Before we dive into our usual highlights from the day before, Kasey and I want to THANK YOU  from the bottom of our hearts. We have officially logged 8,000 photos on Instagram! It’s not-so-much the number of photos that matters but the amount of sharing of the #plantPOWER message. Thank you for helping us inspire others to POWER their bodies with plant-based foods. You all ROCK!

Now, onto our “R” highlights!

Brittany (@barrandtable) created roasted banana berry chocolate cups!

S is for…Soul Space!

Every day, the first thing I do is make time for Soul Space. We are put here on this earth to listen to our calling. If we do not carve out time to connect with ourselves, we bypass that calling. Soul Space can be a number of things…it’s all about what works for you  and whatever puts you into that J’adore la vie state of mind.

Every morning, as I’m lying in bed, before I even open my eyes, I repeat the prayer from A Course in Miracles: “Where would you have me go? What would you have me do? What would you have me say? And to whom?” I breathe in and out deeply and feel the words penetrate throughout my body. It’s a call to the Universe to lead me to choose love in everything I do for the day. Then, I get my workout on and follow it up with a meditation. It is the ultimate mind cleanse.

I encourage you to find your Soul Space and do that first thing in the morning. It doesn’t have to be for an hour. It can be five minutes. It can be 15 minutes. What gives you a total sense of peace? What causes you to feel like you’re on top of the world? Do that every day.

Yesterday, my girl Jenn and I took the holiday as an opportunity for Soul Space.

We nourished our souls with #plantPOWER food at Garden Grille. Food for our souls!

Roasted sweet potato wedges with housemade BBQ sauce

Edamame and white bean burger, red cabbage slaw, and housemade kim-chi remoulade. Complete with a dill pickle!

We nourished our souls by creating vision boards.

The left side is full of my goals for my professional life, the middle represents who I am regardless of what I do,and the right side is a working progress of fun goals for the future! I am unapologetic about my soul’s desires!

Are you?

How are you making space for your soul! Let’s share. :-)

Stay lovely,
Heather
