T is for…TRUST to live your TRUTH!
![]()
All that people want from you is your truth. When people live from their truth, I fall head over heels in love with them. All that you need to be the happiest person you know is to live by your truth. Not mine. Not Kasey’s. Not even Buddha’s or Gandhi’s. YOUR TRUTH.
In order to live our truth and feel confident being our true selves, we have to step into the fear – the uncomfortable situations – because that’s where we break our comfort zones and that’s how we grow. It took choosing recovery from an eating disorder for me to realize that I’d been denying my desire to live a plant-based life. It took my parent’s divorce for me to gain the courage to part ways with the Catholic faith and embrace who I know that I am: a spiritual being having a human experience with a unique love and light to share with others. This is true of all of us. We have the same truth in that sense. The difference lies in how we express our truth.
Last week, I had the sheer pleasure of chatting it up with two of my mentors, Kris Carr and Marie Forleo, on a live telecast. As I further my career and follow my passions, I found myself becoming straight up overwhelmed last week. I have so many passions: spirituality, music, writing, nutrition, and teaching barre classes. Where do I begin? Marie gave me simple yet oh-so-wise advice: to keep infusing passion into all of those things and, eventually the thing that makes me shine will come through. This sort of gave me an “ah ha!” moment. I realized that I am already living my truth. I am already fusing passion into everything I do in order to serve others.
I don’t have to “dim down” any area of my life that I am passionate about. I can express passion every day of my life. And so can you.
We all have the same truth and simply express it in different ways, meaning I am no better than you. And you are no better than me. There’s plenty of room for all of us to express of truths. Just because we don’t have a book deal or just because we aren’t writing for a magazine doesn’t mean that our job is “less meaningful” than anyone else’s. We are all called to do the same thing (spread love though our gifts and passions). We simply do it in different ways.
Be Patient & Trust
All we have to do is be patient. Let go and surrender your idea of time and when things should happen in the world according to you. Everything I desire is on the UPS truck. It’s not going to arrive on my clock. It will arrive when I’m ready – on Universal time. I trust in this and am patient. Allow yourself to trust that you are exactly where you need to be and remember that things will not happen on your clock.
Pay Attention to the Assignments from the Universe
Every person we meet bring a new assignment and a new opportunity for us to grow and learn. Don’t ignore those people and those situations because they are brought to you by the Universe for a reason: to help you grow and become more settled into your truth so that you can be a vessel of love for others. So, what inspires you? What are you passionate about? Do it. Do it all. Because that’s where your juice lies. That’s where your truth will be expressed and you will figure out exactly the next step to take.
Be Present
Most importantly, be present. All we ever have is now, so enjoy the now and pay attention the assignments that the Universe graciously lines up for you. If we’re’ always racing to the next moment, what happens to the one we’re in Show up, be present, enjoy, and live your truth.
Stay lovely,
Heather
P.S. – Make sure you check out Kasey’s post!

Heather, what a great post! I love that your desire is on a “UPS truck” and will show up on its own time. What a great analogy. I try to live my truth every day. I try to inspire people each day to believe in humanity and the inherent goodness we have inside ourselves. I’m glad there are people like you in the world reminding us that we are good enough just as we are.
Jeanette
Another amazing post Heather! So inspiring. It’s so awesome to see and feel how passionate you are about your beliefs!
Thanks for featuring my picture, Heather! And what a great post for T day! It’s so true that we should follow our passions and stay true to ourselves. It’s something I’ve been struggling with as I am preparing to finish my masters degree and want to incorporate all my passions into my work. It’s refreshing to read that it’s okay to just be patient and wait for what the universe has in store! As always, than you for your inspiration!
