I’m so glad to have found your blog! I am a senior in college and from Mass as well!
I took my first ever barre class about a month ago and loved it. I wish I could find it at a gym that is more convenient but it has definitely opened my eyes to it!
We have very similar stories and I can’t wait to start reading your blog!
Hey Jennifer, I’m so excited that you found my blog, too! Since you live in MA, you should come to Mind.Body.Barre one Saturday morning. I would love to meet you and chat. We could swap vegan foodie ideas, I’m sure!
Oh and did I mention I am vegan too?!
Hi Heather – so pleased to have found your site. Your journey is inspiring, and I look forward to following your blog. I also changed my lifestyle following a very nasty time, and havn’t looked back.
Good on you!
Ali! Your comment touched my heart and made me smile. You inspire me, girl.
Hi Heather! My name is Heather also and I just completed my Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nutrition Science last year. I have also had an eating disorder since age 11, and am now 27. I started blogging due to my passion on being vegan in trying to heal from my disorder as well, and am a HUGE fitness enthusiast also, as you are. Thank you for being so honest and open about your disorder, your triumphs and why you choose to be vegan.
I personally believe that the more of us out there who continue to open up, regardless of what other people say about a chosen lifestyle in eating such as being vegan, the healthier we can become with ourselves and others.
If you get some free time, check out my blog:) Though it isn’t a recipe blog anymore, it is an open honest place about my disorder and my journey to healing.
You do such a great job with your blog:) I found it on Choosing Raw, an all-time blog favorite of mine. I live in SC, but like to keep up with those of us around the country that are dealing with the same issues. I’m definitely a regular reader now of your blog. GREAT JOB!:)

Heather! Nice name.
Your blog is so earnest and thoughtful. I love this line: “I may not fully be recovered, but I do have a voice, a hand to write with and a really big story to tell.” Keep trucking, lady, you’ll get there! I’m here if you need me.

Hi Fred,
Thank you! I’ll keep the recipes coming, for sure. Can’t wait to check out your blog when it launches!
Its been a challenge from spatula to keyboard but very rewarding and a true spiritual experience .
I Found that the joy of stillness, in the presence of Christ brings allot of fruit to the surface, but furthermore a deeper love for all those you don’t know truly.
Because as we all are looking for something at some point, its often the things that are given and not sought that hold the biggest blessings, for in them and maybe not at first discovered I have found are directions, friendships
realizations and truth that i like to think of as blessings.
sorry just felt a well spring and thought i would share.
That is so true, Fred! What we seek is not nearly as great as what is (unexpectedly) given to us. Beautiful words.
Hi Heather! I recently discovered your blog from your guest post on Gena’s Choosing Raw. What an inspirational story! And so brave of you to share. I’m a vegan and kale lover, too, and and I’m looking forward to following your blog. Good luck in your last semester

Hey Heather!
Just discovered your blog recently and wanted to say hello! It’s so inspiring to read blogs from fellow college seniors dedicated to living a healthy lifestyle. Most of the healthy living blogs I read discuss changes people made AFTER college; it’s encouraging to read of others who are dedicated to making those changes NOW! Keep up the great bloggin’!

You’ve been such an inspiration to me over this past semester by staying so committed to living a clean lifestyle with the stress of college. I’ve been inspired to start my own blog!
I struggle with anxiety and maintaining healthy eating habits so my hope is to use my blog as my balance, and hopefully inspire my peers to take this healthy living journey with me!
Thanks for being you!!

Hi Meagan! Thanks so much for commenting.
I’m so happy that you found me, girl.
Heather, I’m having Kale with my supper tonight. I just started a very regulated diet designed to get me back on track. I’m reading your blog for inspiration and suggestions. Thank you so much. Love life, embrace who you are.
Dave
Thank you, Dave! <3 Good luck on your journey. xoxo
You are very inspirational! Im trying to transition to a vegan diet and was wondering what your daily meals are like (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks). I know u post some of these, but I never see what u do for breakfast and snacks
Also, not to get too nosey, but what are ur general macronutrients (%/g carbs, pro, fat). Many of the prominent vegan doctors say to stick to something like 80% carbs and 10% fat/pro (CHina Study)… do u follow this? Also, what is your calorie level? Im an athlete too and Im trying to figure out how to do a balanced vegan diet while gaining muscle, so seeing how u do this so successfully would help me and others out a lot!
Also, do u use protein powders like sun warrior?
Thanks SO much for the info and help!!!!!
Hi Bee! I’ll shoot you an email with my response, okay?
